BY CAR

BY RAIL
If you are arriving from England get on to the West Coast line
(heading for Glasgow) and that will deliver you direct to Dumfries.
If you are coming from Scotland, get yourself on a south-bound
train and head for Dumfries. There are further rail connections
to Annan, Gretna Green, Kirkconnel, Lockerbie, Sanquhar and
Stranraer.

BY SEA
If you are coming from Ireland, the best thing to do is to head
for Larne or Belfast. Then take the ferry to either Stranraer
or Cairnryan and you'll step or drive ashore in Dumfries
& Galloway. Stena Line operates between Belfast and Stranraer.
P&O Irish Sea Ferries run between Larne and Cairnryan. In
all, there are twenty crossings from Northern Ireland to Dumfries
& Galloway every day.

BY AIR
Obviously the quickest way, if you book in advance you get some
real bargain fares. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick Airports
are all within two hours drive of Dumfries & Galloway. Flights
to these Airports are operated by British Airways, British European,
